The Climb
07:39
|
|||
Cold
I climb the hill of shattered hope
Stones beneath my feet crumble like the soul I’ve sold
Grace
The fall from you was glorious in truth
I am revived by the autumn sun, this path was mine to choose
Shining, the yellow leaves cut through the light
The sun will always set here, embrace the night
Hold
I scale the mountain of lost dreams
Their songs escape my ear, replacing them with fear
Break
'Give in, let go' – the voices scream at me
But I’m too close, I’ll see the dawn again, this next step sets me free
High
The summit out of reach
Grip... slides
There’s so much left to grasp, but it’s not for me
I fall, hopeless, like November leaves

Elusive Light
07:01
|
|||
Rays of splintered faith slip through my hands
The remnants of my trust fall through my fingers
Like sand
(Is it good for the world to appeal to our credulity and not to ourselves. Is it good for the world to worship a deity that takes sides in wars and human affairs? To appeal to our fear, to our guilt, is it good for the world? To our terror, our terror of death, is it good to appeal. But who would not say we'd be better off without it if it was an aspect of humanism, an aspect of compassion, an aspect of the realization of human solidarity, the knowledge that we are all, in fact, all bound up one with another, and there's actually a sense of pleasure to be had in helping your fellow creature) --- Hitchens
Bring forth the dream
Promise of respite, harmless it may seem
Conjure: Misleading Sight
Chase the shadows, evoke eternal night
(There are people to whom that those thoughts do not occur, who are deaf to that idea, who only think of themselves, who wouldn't worry about the internal daemon assassin or companion. And there are, of course, people who only get pleasure from being unpleasant to other people and inflicting cruelty on them. The first group we call the sociopathic and the second group we call the psychopathic, my only problem is with those who think that they're all made in the image of God...) - Hitchens
Drink in the shade
Hold onto something, as your reach for sun’s last ray
Give in to a promise of a gift beneath
The forking path will be your final stop, decide and breathe
Rays of splintered faith slip from my hands
The remnants of my trust fall through my fingers
Like sand
Bring forth the dream
Promising solace, harmless it may seem
Conjure: Elusive Sight
Chase the beams of hope, someday I’ll catch their…

The Lock and the Key
08:31
|
|||
Script that coils ‘round my arms
Prayers of a long lost priest
Descriptions of a world beyond
The promises they can’t keep
I hold my torch up high
In search of the key to the lock
Yet I always forget one truth
I am not one with this flock
Standing on the precipice of death, you question:
“Why am I here?”
The echoes of our deep November resounding and clear
You were never the key, though I hear faint echoes of your knock
Our paths no longer cross, and I will never be your lock
Brace
We never held the same beliefs
Despite our lucid hopes we live the life beneath
What sense is there to grip the memories of a life that’s lost?
Perhaps one day we’ll find each other’s gaze
In the frost

Reflections in the Ice
07:32
|
|||
Come this way
I’ll not lead you astray
In this lightless year
All the voices disappear
Trust in me
I possess the master key
Hear my eternal decree
You must close your eyes
To see
Snow falls fast
Blurring visions of a crippling past
On the shores of this frozen lake
One decision left to make
The reflection in the ice
For a second makes you think twice
So frail, this existence
Yet there’s fire
In the distance
Winds of Fall whisper my name
They call out to me in the moments that remain
Winds of Fall carry this heart
To a place I cannot reach, ‘til my ghost and I depart
Come this way
I’ll not lead you astray
In this lightless year
All the voices disappear
Trust in me
I possess the master key
Hear my eternal decree
You must close your eyes
To see
Winds of Fall whisper my name
They call out to me in the seconds that remain
Winds of Fall carry this... heart

Chained to the Earth
06:48
|
|||
Diamond chains
Bind me
To this place
Place of hissing ghosts
Place of broken thoughts
Every link
Denies
Every hope
Stars adorn the dome
Of this iron home
Break free of the redeemer’s grasp
Reject the gift, this is my hearth
Sink deep in the forgotten sea
Eternal penance I will serve
So
I lift my head and gaze at untouchable dreams
Their lights reach out to me, but they can’t hear me scream
My vision fades and colors leak out of their form
In somber seclusion I sing my Autumn’s Song
Diamond chains
Bind me
To this place
Place of hissing ghosts
Place I’ll always loathe
Every link
Denies
Every hope
Stars adorn the dome
Of my frigid home
Break free of the redeemer’s grasp
Reject the gift, this is my hearth
Sink deep in the forgotten sea
Eternal penance I will serve
